CECs – Citizen Energy Communities_
The CEC is an entity that operates in accordance with the provisions of article 3, paragraph 3 of Legislative Decree 210/2021, and the electricity injected into the grid for the purpose of sharing must be produced by generation facilities operated by a producer that is part of the community or by third parties, even if they are only a passive part of the CEC, provided that said electricity production facilities are at the disposal and under the control of the community itself in relation to the electricity injected.
Collectively organised group of active customers_
This is a group of active customers, as defined in article 14, paragraph 4 of Legislative Decree no. 210/2021, which regulate their relations with each other through a private-law contract in which a responsible party is designated.
The ownership and management, including the installation, operation, data processing and maintenance of production and storage facilities located in the building or condominium, as well as in various locations at the full availability of the active customers themselves, and whose electricity production is relevant for the purposes of the joint use of electricity by the active customers, may be transferred to a third party, provided that the latter is subject to the instructions of one or more active customers belonging to the group.
The active physically separate customer using the distribution network_
This is the active customer who uses the distribution grid to utilise the electricity generated and stored together with one or more generation facilities located in buildings or on sites other than those of the active customer and to consume it virtually at the points of consumption of which he is the owner.
The buildings or land on which the generation and consumption facilities are located must be fully available to the active customer.
The ownership and management, including the construction, operation, data processing and maintenance of generation and storage facilities whose production is relevant for the joint use of electricity by the active customer may be in the hands of a third party, provided that this third party is subject to the instructions of the active customer.
